A quick poll asking people what they think about will illustrate the many different things people are thinking about from world peace, soccer, global warming to sailing creative writing, hiking or fast cars.
It would be more clearly and correctly stated that people don’t think anymore - about the same things. They are thinking about what they want to think about.
‘Think What You Want’ designs represent the spirit of such independent thinking. These fun and creative designs are your way of telling the world that you are thinking what you want.
Each design combines the image of a thought-about-topic with a corresponding, witty tag-line. These designs were originally developed during a time when the media, advertising, athletes and other celebrities were promoting trash-talking-in-your-face messages. Belt-line to neck-line messages telling YOU what to think. Think What You Want is your reply that you will think about what you want.
While some are able to walk the talk, and wear aggressively bold t-shirt billboards, the rest of us need to be a bit more thoughtful about our approach to things. We need to think about our game. When speed or strength give way to age - thinking is the replacement.
The sport designs within this series represent the quieter more thoughtful and more reflective side of sports.
An interesting study was done with three sets of basketball players that went something like this: One set shot baskets every day, another set just thought about shooting the perfect shot and the third did both. The end results were that the set who did both improved the most, but the set who only thought about shooting improved more than the set who only shot baskets. This is a great study on the power of thinking and visualization. As it is said ‘we become what we think.’
This year people have been consumed by a newly packaged and marketed, but the very historic idea that we are and become what we think. This is a true statement repeated through out history by some of the greatest thinkers and philosophers. It is a foundation for Buddhism. It is the premise of meditation. It is a common practice of successful athletes and business people. -And if we are already thinking anyway we might as well apply it something we love.
There is a great thinker within all of us if we are thinking about the things we are passionate about. Think What You Want designs have been developed for you to quietly let people know you are busy thinking about what is important to you. We can put an end to the accusations that people don’t think anymore. Next time you hear someone saying that just tell them to ‘Think What They Want!’ - Thanks for Thinking.
